St. Kieran's NS is awarded its 6th Green Flag... We were awarded our 6th Green Flag for Global Citizenship in May 2019. Our picture shows the raising of the Green flag by the Green Schools committee in June 2019. Hurling Champions 2019
Johnstown are the Cumann na mBunscoil Roinn D Hurling Champions for 2019 having defeated Galmoy in the final in Nowlan Park. St. Kieran's is awarded its 5th Green Flag....
The school was awarded its fifth green flag, for Biodiversity, at an award ceremony in Hotel Kilkenny. The new flag was hoisted by The Green Schools Committee in June. Hurling Champions 2017 Johnstown are county champions for the second year in a row having won the Cumann na mBunscoil Roinn D County final. They beat St Canices from Kilkenny City on a scoreline of 5-07 to 1-06. Well done to everyone on this fantastic achievement. Hurling Champions 2016....What a fantastic victory as Johnstown are the winners of the Roinn E Cumann na mBunscoil County Final. They beat Galmoy in Nowlan Park on Tuesday 24th May 16 on a scoreline of 7-09 to 1-02. Well done to everyone - the whole parish is very proud of ye! Badminton champions....... for the second year running. Well done to the Girls Badminton Team on winning the Kilkenny Schools Badminton Final in the Watershed. This was a fantastic achievement. The boys did very well also as Runners- Up in their final. |

Competition winners with school staff
Credit Union Art Competition Success....The school had great success recently in the Credit Union Art competition. Eoin Sharkey came first in his category and will proceed to the next stage. Karina Sharkey O'Leary came second and Sarah Curran came third.
